Now that you are moving into the Dallas
area, you will need
to think about schools. Even if do not have school age children,
a highly rated school system is good for selling. Here I will
provide you with general information and links to schools
from elementary to university level. Dallas has a wide variety
of educational opportunities for everyone from the serious
student to the Senior citizen who wants to learn how to email.
The Texas Education Agency maintains a very comprehensive
website. It has detailed statistical data on every individual
school campus in Texas. Under “school data” you
can find the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS).
The AEIS gives a wide range of information on the performance
of students in each school and district including test scores,
attendance and drop out rates.
The Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex has over 200 private schools.
If you are considering private school, a book is available
to help you. A Guide to DFW Private Schools
can be purchased in local bookstores. Each school gives a
concise summary of their curricula, admission policies, and
other pertinent information. Most of the information in the
book is also posted at a commercial website.
Information about each school campus is available from the
websites of these public school districts:
